Your favorite Saturday night hangout and Sunday brunch spot just got a whole lot sweeter. And did we mention savory? Thanks to new Executive Chef Bruce Kalman’s menu that launched at the beginning of October, you can now have your cake and eat it too, along with all sorts of new menu additions that will have you booking reservations stat.
The Churchill has undoubtedly become a Los Angeles favorite—whether you choose to drink or dine, the outdoor patio is always filled and the photo booth is always flashing. A neighborhood favorite where every bartender may legitimately know your name, this place has become a home away from home for many young twenty-somethings, Angelenos and those looking to run into a celebrity or two on a Tuesday night. And let’s face it—the concrete floors, antiqued mirrors and iron tabletops don’t make for a bad ambiance either.
So what’s this breath of fresh hair we speak of? Meet Bruce Kalman.
Bruce Kalman, new executive chef, has worked at a bevvy of well renowned restaurants, including The Misfit in Santa Monica and Urbano Pizza Bar. And now, lucky for us, the Churchill. Thanks to Kalman’s take on “rustic elegance,” a new and exciting Californian/Mediterranean inspired menu awaits.
New dinner favorites include Okinawan Sweet Potato Gnocchi with bacon, butternut squash, forest mushrooms, pecorino and Casserole of Duck Confit, with sausage and beans. And just when you needed a little “something-something” to satisfy that sweet tooth, the Churchill’s new dessert menu features favorites such as Apple and Bacon Upside Down Cake with bourbon glaze, fresh whipped cream and Chocolate Budino with olive oil & white truffle salt. Yes, we said it…white truffle salt.
Oh, don’t think we forgot about breakfast. After a long night out at the Churchill, come back the following morning for Short Rib Hash and Eggs or French Toast with brioche, spiced apple chutney, whipped vanilla bean crème fraiche.
New Chef. New Food. Same spot.
Come for a drink, stay for a meal.
